Buquoy Chateau in Nove Hrady

This 19th century Napoleonic chateau is the property of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAV) and houses the innovative and leading research institution “Academy and University Center of Nove Hrady”, a close cooperation between the Institute of Systems Biology and Ecology (ISBE, CAV) and the Institute of Physical Biology (IPB, University of South Bohemia).
The ISBE's main focus is on focuses on emergent dynamic properties of biological and ecological systems at various hierarchical levels, from molecules to landscapes (the former Institute of Landscape Ecology is part of ISBE). The primary activity of the Institute is scientific research and graduate education. Spin-off as well as collaboration with industry and public sector are other essential features. The Institute supports both domestic and international science also by activities of its conference center in the chateau of Nove Hrady.
IPB is active in basic and applied research of natural systems. In collaboration with other faculties it participates in education through study programs to which it is delegated by the university. It collaborates with industry in transfer of technology from academia to practice.
The Conference Center is located on the main central floor of the Chateau; the wings and outer buildings housing the research areas, laboratories, offices, and accommodation. The Center has excellent facilities including all modern techniques, free internet room, bar, in-house accommodation with internet connections, etc.

The main Entry Hall functions as registration area.
The Theatre hall is the main lecture room, with all essential facilities inlcuding permanent internet connections, fixed data projectors, translating facilities etc.
The Blue Room and Mirror Hall are used for poster presentations, break-out workshops, with the Blue Room often also being used as room for receptions, with overflow to the rear balcony and park (not in drawing).
