Local Implementation II
The 2010 Conference on Local Implementation of the ELC
In the November 2008 CIVILSCAPE General Assembly meeting in Florence, participants supported the idea that this Conference should become an anual or bi-annual event. It should be a "state of the art" conference on results, problems, and challenges in the local implementation of the Convention.
First negotions are underway as to the who, where, and when of Local Implementation II.
No decisions have been made on this yet but it would be a good idea to keep checking this website and keep some space on your agenda in early May 2010.
Centuries-old large fishponds in the region slowly developed into artificial shallow lakes.
Many of them are now protected as Nature Reserves or Ramsar Sites.
This is a key example of harmonic joining of natural value and economic use.
